69th CSAA TOY BOWL

CSAA athletes competed for Football Championships on Saturday & Sunday, November 4 & 5. Sunday's Toy Bowl games were preceded with the 5th annual Blue-Gray Classic. This game provides any 8th grade football player (whose team did not make the Championship) to celebrate the end of the season with those they competed against throughout the season. The Classic was created by football director, Thom Wachtel, and has been a great addition to Toy Bowl Sunday.

The 6th grade A Division was won by
St. Michael over Notre Dame/Andrew/Paul 34 - 24
In the 6th AA Division,
St. Mary/Aloysius defeated Holy Trinity/Lourdes/Leonard 10 -2

Charles Walker presents the Toy Bowl Trophy

The 8th grade A Division champion, St. Patrick, defeated St. Mary/Aloysius 14 - 0
In the 8th AA Division; St. Bernard/Nicholas/Michael was the victor over

CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

CROSS COUNTRY DIRECTOR  & ANTICIPATION EXCITEMENT

October 2nd & 3rd the 2017 CSAA Cross Country Fun Run & Junior/Senior Championships were hosted at Tom Sawyer State Park.  This was the 33rd year for the championships and we saw over 800 young girls and boys participate on two stunningly beautiful days. The enthusiasm and joy for distance running was evident in all the participants, as well as our director, who spends a huge amount of time preparing for the event. CONGRATS TO ALL - from 1st grade through 8th - who made both days a huge success. The results are listed on our webpage in the Cross Country section of "Sports".

Three new records were set in the Junior/Senior division making for an almost perfect day. Thank You, Joe Buechler for setting up a great course and working so hard for all the participants.

Finally, a “Fare Thee Well” to Lawrence Glaser who has contributed 21 years coaching at St. Aloysius, PeWee Valley – and who saw one of his team members set a new CSAA record in his final year of coaching.

League & Field Manager Information

All dates and times listed on the CSAA SPORTS CALENDAR are subject to change at any time.  CSAA conflicts, gym or field availability, along with weather conditions may mandate changes.

The CSAA requires notification of official school or parish related activities on our official CSAA Team Registration Form. The CSAA League Manager will schedule around mandatory school and parish events with proper notification. Failure to properly communicate these dates may cause your team to miss a league or tournament game.

“Mandatory” functions are only those events that are mandated for a group of student athletes by the school or parish. These are not to be confused with “elective” events. The CSAA cannot schedule around “elective” events due to the tight schedule we maintain.

The CSAA does not allow schedule changes for Fall Breaks because different schools have different dates for Fall Break. Please respect our desire to be consistent while dealing with 30 different programs.

Thank you for your help, Rick Arnold, Executive Director
